I cannot recommend highly enough ITC for assistance in solving problems of management by teaching teams and individuals management methods and skills. Mr. Hodgson in particular is truly an expert in the pedagogy of management. My first need was to improve the performance of a team with a highly developed set of technical skills in computer programming, mathematical analysis of financial models, and the workings of financial markets.

The leader of the group was not an effective leader, and the group was composed of individuals not accustomed to working as a team. Mr. Hodgson molded the group into an effective team with proper management protocols, and the group leader became an effective administrator. The performance of the group has risen from an unsatisfactory level to exemplary. Encouraged by Mr. Hodgson’s success in helping my own business, I offered his services to The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, where I am a vice-chairman. Mr. Hodgson was successful in effecting significant cost savings and operational efficiencies by modifying the management practices and structure of the security and operations departments. Effective management practices are composed of skills that can be learned, and Mr. Hodgson is an excellent teacher. He is clearly the person I will call when I have need.

MRO Software (IBM)

ITC were first recommended to me by a senior executive at Hoskyns. At the time I had an inexperienced manager looking after all of MRO's technical resources and there was a clear absence of process in everything that department did. ITC were engaged to helping this manager to standardise processes document them and roll them out to the entire team through a training programme. I was impressed that ITC were not one of those consultancies that got lost in processes for the sake of it. There was a pragmatism that enabled MRO to adopt the practices in bite-size chunks which in turn enabled everyone to see tangible progress.

For a number of years ITC were then used by MRO's HR department for general management training courses across a broad range of topics. I specifically organised a number of team-building programmes using ITC as a facilitator. Ron Hodgson built up a formidable reputation for team building around the European offices of MRO and was used extensively by a number of managers to conduct their programs. More recently I have focused ITC's energy towards their roots in sales training. I needed a continuous improvement programme within the European sales force.

One further aspect of the way in which MRO used ITC's services was to suggest ways to improve the effectiveness of our recruiting and personnel development programmes. ITC introduced into MRO Thomas International's psychometric testing of candidates to highlight potential problems. It was also used very extensively to analyse the likelihood of existing employees being able to transition from technical roles to revenue generating roles.

Even this precise history of ITC's work with MRO Software gives an impression of ITC's versatility. I put this down to the fact that Ron Hodgson goes out of his way to relate to the individuals he works with. The trust that he engenders at all levels within a typical organisation makes it easy for people to come to him for suggestions as to how to address a problem.
